InConstant Coverage
Experimental Documentary, 4:45, 2022. Footage shot from the aftermath of hurricane Ian, which destroyed Ft. Myers Beach, FL in 2022, is intentionally distorted through optic experimentation to draw attention to our fascination with the destructive power of nature. With the advent of the twenty-four-hour live news cycle, people have access to “disaster footage” on a regular basis. The film questions the modern phenomenon of “couch potato voyeurism” and the inevitable desensitization to human suffering and the ultimate loss of empathy. Simply put: not everything is entertainment.
