Punk Love

Experimental Documentary, 29:30, 2022

Punk Love takes the viewer on an evening out to a punk bar for a charity event. You read that right. The punk community of Tallahassee, FL deeply cares for houseless people in the area. Artist/activist/community leader, nik rye, organizes fundraisers and other community events, which become their platform for performance art that brings attention to the issue at hand. Watch nik and the punk community come together to raise money for Ann, a local houseless woman, to get off the streets for winter: the “We Can House Ann” project. We hear from key people involved in the cause and explore why and how the punk community became involved in “charitable work.”
